Junior Accountant Accountant

We are looking for a responsible junior accountant to perform a variety of bookkeeping, tax, and accounting tasks. Duties of the junior accountant include providing support to our managers and staff, assisting in daily office needs, and working with our client base. The ideal candidate should have excellent oral and written communication skills and be able to organize their work using tools like MS Excel and office equipment. Responsibilities

  • Review aged accounts receivable reports weekly.

  • Maintain accounts payable processes

  • Prepare and file individual and business tax returns

  • Responsible for making required daily general ledger entries and month-end journal entries.

  • Update contact lists and act as a point of contact for internal and external clients.

  • Maintain and manage monthly client business accounts.

  • Complete all digital and hard-copy filing (QuickBooks, Microsoft Offices Suite, etc.) as needed in timely correspondence, including letter writing, emails, and numerous telephone calls; as well as act on behalf of our various companies to vendors and clients.

  • Perform required tasks for payroll such as: verifying time sheets, creating payroll reports, and generating checks for signatures.

  • Manage bank reconciliations and generate monthly P&Ls & Balance Sheets.

  • Prepare for meetings with superiors and team members with meeting summaries/memos.

  • Work closely with management on daily operations and manage or assist with departmental projects as they may arise.

    • Establish positive and professional relationships with clients, vendors, and contractors.

Required Skills

  • Digital work order applications and systems.

  • Cloud storage applications and systems.

  • Microsoft Office Suite.

  • 2+ years of office administration experience is preferred.

Hours

  • 40-hour work week, 50-55 hour work week during tax season and month end close

Travel

  • Between 5-10%

Experience

  • 2 years of tax preparation work experience.

  • 1+ years of computer accounting experience.

Background Checks

Education

  • BS Accounting or Finance degree (Required)

  • MS Accounting or MBA degree (Preferred)

Compensation: Salary + Commission
