Tax Staff Accountant
We are looking for a responsible Tax Staff Accountant to perform a variety of bookkeeping, tax, and accounting tasks. Duties of the Tax Staff Accountant include providing support to our managers and staff, assisting in daily office needs, and working with our client base. The ideal candidate should have excellent oral and written communication skills and be able to organize their work using tools like MS Excel and office equipment. Responsibilities
Review aged accounts receivable reports weekly.
Maintain accounts payable processes.
Prepare and file individual and business tax returns.
Make required daily general ledger entries and month-end journal entries.
Update contact lists and act as a point of contact for internal and external clients.
Maintain and manage monthly client business accounts.
Complete all digital and hard-copy filing (QuickBooks, Microsoft Office Suite, etc.) in a timely manner, including correspondence like letters, emails, and phone calls; act on behalf of our companies with vendors and clients.
Perform payroll tasks such as verifying timesheets, creating payroll reports, and generating checks for signatures.
Manage bank reconciliations and generate monthly P&Ls and Balance Sheets.
Prepare for meetings with summaries/memos for superiors and team members.
Work closely with management on daily operations and assist with departmental projects as they arise.
Establish positive and professional relationships with clients, vendors, and contractors.
Required Skills
Experience with digital work order applications and systems.
Familiarity with cloud storage applications and systems.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
2+ years of office administration experience (preferred).
Experience in tax preparation.
Location:
In-office position
40-50 company-scheduled remote days per year
Hours
40-hour work week
50-55 hour work week during tax season and month-end close
Travel
5-10% travel
Experience
2 years of tax preparation work experience.
1+ years of computer accounting experience.

BS in Accounting or Finance (required)
MS in Accounting or MBA (preferred)
